New top-management appointments at Metinvest's enterprises

On September, 23rd 2010, the Supervisory Board of PJSC Azovstal Iron and Steel Works and PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works made several decisions with regard to changes in top-management of the above mentioned steelmaking enterprises.

The Board accepted resignation of Dmitry Livshits, General Director of PJSC Azovstal Iron and Steel Works and PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works. 

Supervisory Board appointed Enver Tskitishvili in its capacity as Acting General Director of PJSC Azovstal Iron and Steel Works. Mr Tskitishvili previously held position of General Director of CJSC Makiivka Iron and Steel Works. The Board also appointed Yuriy Zinchenko, the Chief Engineer of PJSC Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant, as Acting General Director of PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works. 

The question of election of the general directors by the shareholders of PJSC Azovstal I and SW and PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works will be on the agenda of the general shareholders’ meetings of the aforementioned enterprises. Meetings’ dates will be defined later.

Since being appointed the General director of Makiivka Steel in February 2008, Enver Tskitishvili has implemented several large-scale change projects aimed at restructuring of product range of the plant to improve plant’s competitive edge especially during the global crisis. Prior to taking the office of the CEO of Makiivka Steel Mr Tskitishvili had been the General director of Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and the people’s deputy of Ukraine of the 4th convocation of Ukrainian Parliament. 

Yuriy Zinchenko had begun his career at Azovstal Iron and Steel Works in 1998 where he advanced from forehearth operator at Blast furnace shop to the Head of Azovstal’s Technical Department. In April 2009, Yuriy Zinchenko was appointed Chief Engineer of PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works.

PJSC Azovstal Iron and Steel Works is a modern high-tech enterprise manufacturing a broad range of metal products: slab, long and shaped rolled products, rails, rail fastening, square billets, heavy plate, and slag products, Production capacity of the Mill is over 5,5 mln, t of cast Pig iron, over 6,4 mln, t of steel, including  4,4 mln, t of converter steel, and over 4,4  mln, t of rolled products, Design capacity of rail fastenings production is 285 thous, tpa, grinding balls –  170 thous, tpa.

PJSC Khartsyzsk Tube Works is the largest enterprise in CIS manufacturing large diameter longitudinal seam SAW pipes (508-1422 mm in diameter) with corrosion-resistant exterior and interior or flow coating for oil and gas pipelines, Plant facilities allow to manufacture more than 1,3 mln, t of pipes per year including 665 thou t of coated pipes. Integrated Management System ensuring stable high quality of the products to the customers is functioning at Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, API Spec Q1, DSTU ISO 9001 and GOST R ISO 9001 create its foundation, Products are certified according to API, EN Standards and in national system UkrSEPRO, PJSC Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant is a part of Steel and Rolled Products Division of Metinvest Group.
